Hello, why DIS_CHOC works but DIS_CONTACT does nothing?
url=0d-2.7z
i do not exactly understand what is you question
i have used successfully DIS_CHOC and DIS_CONTACT quite a few times to minic contact between cables, without any friction
my command file looks quite a bit different from yours
attached is the command file[upl-file uuid=8f2ee462-01cc-4beb-a94c-213c8fc09954 size=8kB]geo1.bin[/upl-file]
My question is why RELATION=‘DIS_CONTACT’ behaves like there is no spring.
RELATION=‘DIS_CHOC’ behaves as expected. Beam deforms until 10 mm, then the contact is activated.
instead of JEU I must use dis_contact = DEFI_MATERIAU(DIS_CONTACT=_F(COULOMB=0.0, DIST_1=10 )), then it behaves like dis_choc
i cannot see any DIS_CONTACT available under COMPORTEMENT
as far as i understand
DIS_CONTACT is a material property (under DEFI_MATERIAU)
while DIS_CHOC is a behavior under COMPORTEMENT
the way i use it :
below a certain distance between the two nodes one pushes the other, in other word there is compression in the the discrete element
if the force acts the other way that would be traction in the discrete, this discrete transmits no force at all and the two nodes can move away
No, it is available.
And the DIST_1 is not correct solution, it pushed the spring up as and initial contact of 10, not gap of 10… So I still don’t understand it.
dis_contact = DEFI_MATERIAU(DIS_CONTACT=_F(COULOMB=0.0, DIST_1=1, JEU = 10 ))
DIS_CHOC behaves as expected, 9 mm free, then contact
DIS_CONTACT no contact
Right end of the beam deforms until 10 mm. Then, the contact is activated. With RELATION=‘DIS_CONTACT’

this work if the resulting force is compressive first and then tensile, if I reverse the order the contact is ignored… weird
FC_LOAD = DEFI_FONCTION(NOM_PARA=‘INST’,
VALE=(0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1, 2 , -1))
