Affe_char_meca_f with force_coque and formule

Hello everybody,

I have à question with force coque in Affe_char_meca when we use à formule that dépends of x,y and z. What point of each coque élément is tested in formula: the Middle or the nodes. My question is about this 🇦 If the value of force change in the shell élément what is code aster doing ?

Hi,

For FORCE_COQUE in AFFE_CHAR_MECA, when the load is defined with a formula depending on x,y and z, the value is not simply taken only at the centre of the shell element or only at the nodes.

Code_aster treats it as a distributed surface load and computes the equivalent nodal forces through the finite element integration of the load. So if the value changes within the shell element, this variation is taken into account according to the integration used by the element.

However, if the load varies strongly over one element, it is better to refine the mesh, otherwise the variation may not be represented accurately enough.
