A feedback on the 2016 code_aster and Salome-Meca User Day
Goodbye Clamart!
On March 17th 2016, the 24th edition of the annual code_aster and Salome-Meca users day was held at EDF Lab Clamart. It brought together about 190 people half from EDF in-house users (engineering, production and R&D) and the other half from the open-source community of code_aster and Salome-Meca.
It was the last time the event took place at EDF Lab Clamart. The appointment is made in 2017 for the next edition on the new EDF Lab Paris-Saclay location.
Studies that are reaping the benefits of recent developments around the parallelism and SALOME
This event was an opportunity to get a glimpse of the most iconic studies carried out during the past year with Salome-Meca, serving the industrial challenges of the EDF Group.
This year, the presentations highlighted recent improvements allowed by parallelism in terms of performance and model size, which was used transparently in many lectures of the day, as was the case for the presentation by EDF/R&D/AMA and EDF/R&D/UKC on the propagation of cracks in the graphite bricks. Similarly, many improvements of the visualization module ParaViS by SALOME teams saw their efforts rewarded, it was widely used to produce illustrations with a professional look and ease interpretation of results.
