Nonlinear modeling of masonry buildings

This recent publication in the journal Bollettino degli Ingegneri shows the effectiveness of Code_Aster and Salome-Meca for non-linear modeling of masonry structures. After a brief description of the code and the behavior law used (Mazars), two use-case are analyzed for which the Code_Aster results are compared with a commercial solution :

  • Modeling a diagonal compression test
  • Modeling of a masonry building
