The first Code_Aster hackathon

Wikipedia definition : A hackathon is an event in which computer programmers collaborate intensively on software projects.

The first Code_Aster hackathon was held at the initiative of Logilab October 18, 2012. 15 people attended (Logilab, EDF, Arcelor-Mittal, Lafarge, LMGC, IngenieurBuro, LaMachine).

4 working groups :

  • WG1: removal of fortran compilation warnings
  • WG2: reflexion about how could be turned the finite elements of Code_Aster into a library of finite elements re-usable in other FE codes
  • WG3: implementing capabilities to be able to execute operations on fields, like Field3 = (Field1.UX - Field2.UX)²
  • WG4: compatibility issue with gcc4.7 & boundcheck
