[SOLVED] Is There way to replace gmetry without loosing previous work?

Hi,
This is quite common situation. I get a file in revision 1 (rev1). I load it to Salome, create points, groups, etc. I run a simulation. Then I receive the same part but in rev2 (for example part is thicker). Basically I’d like to swap the geometries retaining all the groups etc. to save preparation time. Is it possible? If yes, please tell me how to do that.

Hello,
with shaper it has become much easier:
- right click on the import function and chose the new file.

The problem I encounter in the MESH module is that if I recompute the mesh and then create a compound, the names of the groups switch to random numbers. That's why I create a new mesh, which is not a big issue as you can select the previous mesh algorithm and everything is already set up.

Hi Konyaro,
Could you share a screenshot where exactly you right click? Thank you.

Hello,
I was thinking about the "edit..." menu. Then you select the new CAD file and validate.
