Show applied forces in pre/post

Hello there,

I've been wondering about this for a while, and it's starting to get on my nerves. I would like a visual representation of the forces and BC's applied to the model, to quickly check for proper directions, areas etc. I havent been able to make salome_meca show me this in AsterStudy (i'd prefer that) before running the study, and neither in Post-proces/ParaVIS.

Can anyone tell me how this is possible to do?

Hello,

I believe this is not possible, for the following reasons. When you set up a stage in AsterStudy, by adding keywords you merely code the instructions the solver is goint to interpret during the run. Salome-Meca would need vectors to represent the loads as arrows for example. The corresponding vectorfield to the load is created during the run.

You can still display "selected surfaces" where the bcs are applied. If you want vectors, you can always display REAC or FORC in paraview.

Just to add to what Jacob said.

You can use CALC_CHAMP to calculate the Force or Reaction that is applied in a BC. See document u4.81.04. You can run a single timestep to achieve a initial stable solution and then see how the values of those fields compare to what you want.
