Salome new version? salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif

I found a new version (salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif) in (code-aster.org/FICHIERS/singularity/), however it is not listed in the salome_meca download page (code-aster.org/spip.php?article303).

The new version works better than other verisons in my Ubuntu 20.04.

Can anyone update the download page? Without sha1 checking, I feel a little bit ... uncomfortable.

Re: Salome new version? salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif

Hi, thank you for the info!

I downloaded it with `wget -c` and, eventhough it died a few times and the download was extremely slow at the beginning, it seems it downloaded it correctly!

Here are some hashes

sha256sum salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif
1a2e4901ffa94a11e5ccb76ccf7a255483f39cea5d8af2e83929326a7a7b6cc2 salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif

sha1sum salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif
3d5c02a2f5e27dc90c701d3fc848ff6e2d08c475 salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif

It feels snappier and less buggy! It still has some graphical glitches in --soft mode, but it seems much better.

Thank you,
Fer

Hi,

1. After a lot of interruptions, I could finally download it with wget -c option, though it took more than 24 hrs.

2. My initial experience is similar to what's quoted above.

3. I would like to know, if the container can be modified to include mpi version as was discussed in https: //github.com/emefff/Code-Aster-MPI-in-Singularity-of-SM2021

Best regards

Re: Salome new version? salome_meca-lgpl-2021.1.0-1-20220405-scibian-9.sif

Dear all,

1. I tried to build MPI version with this container following the  tutorial at https:***//github.com/emefff/Code-Aster-MPI-in-Singularity-of-SM2021
2. However, it failed in step

 Singularity> ./waf_mpi build --jobs=4

3. It emitted error related to PETSC (Screen-shot attached)
4. Would like to know the work around from learned forum members.
Thanks in advance.

With Best regards

Sukumar

Hello,

I think problem is prerequicites, which are in sif -file. Petsc and probably also MUPS versions are the problem. This is what I found (I am not professional in code matters).

Dear IV_CoAs,

Thanks a lot for your reply. However, being amateur (like you? smile) I am still clueless how to resolve the matter.

Thanks once again and hope to listen detailed instruction  from the learned ones here.

Dear All,

Would any one guide me on the following:

  • How to find the versions in the singularity container,

  • where to get the compatible versions of the prerequisites,

  • if there is anything more needed to get the mpi version of CA compiled in this new container.

Thanks in advance.
