Hello everyone,
this is more of a general question. Lets say I ran an analysis, and I obtained results. Then I realize, it would be great to have, for example, SIEQ_ELNO in the top-layer of a shell-component. But I forgot to use POST_CHAMP in my original .comm file.
Is there a way to calculate further results based on an existing .med results-file?
Many thanks in advance,
greetings,
Jonas Lönartz

Hi Jonas,
The MED file is not sufficient in order to complete the post processing since it does not contain information about the finite element model.
A good approach is to save a "base" (basis) of your calculation, a restart file that saves all context and data from the previous calculation. From a "base" you can continue your calculation (POURSUITE command) and/or do other post processing commands, print tables and other fields, etc.
Best regards,
HB

Thank you very much, this was very helpful.
I will mark this post as [solved]
Edit: Ok, I would have known this if I head read only a few pages further in the great book of Mr. Aubry
