If Mercurial a must?

Hello friends,

Hello ,I am kind of a  new user of code aster. I want to develop some codes in code_aster. I find websites in training material can not be opened such as aster-rex.der.edf.fr . I want to know if those are still needed?  I want to develop based on 14.6 or 15.2 , if I need to go to SOURCEFORGE using waf and Mercurial or I can change the files in 14.6 stable on my  local computer directly ?

Re: If Mercurial a must?

Hanbin,

you can clone the repository in Sourceforge and make changes locally. You could also use a release and make changes locally (in you case you mention 14.6). All changes happen locally, you will not be changing anything from Sourceforge or other places unless you are allowed to.

I would also recommend that you make your modifications on the latest stable releases. That way you get all the fixes and enhancements that were done. As far as I know, that is 14.8 and 15.4. Anything in the v15 release before 15.4 is considered "beta".

Fer
