Hi
I run a test of an unreinforced concrete beam with a notch in the middle. (same as SSNP166a, but with solid elements)
I made a bit of research and found the Load-Displacement curves for the real tests, and from the Abaqus validation benchmark.
It seems I am able to go very close to the original Load-Displacement curve, but only if I use a fake Gf value.
Originally it should be 0.124 Nmm / mm2 but it overestimates the peak and the softening as well.
I can have a good match with using a Gf = 0.025 value.
I do not want to make a more refined mesh since Abaqus works with that mesh, and the model runs a bit long.
I would like to ask what might be the reason behind that it is working only with Gf lower than the normal value?
Anybody any experience? Am I doing something in a wrong way?
