Salome meca 2019 won't install on Debian 10

Hello,

I have a problem with installation od Salome meca 2019 on fresh install of Debian 10 (Buster).
The error I get is:

salome_meca is in English, do you want to be in French ? [y/N] : Installation of salome_meca V2019_univ in /opt/salome/V2019_univ ...
Verifying archive integrity...
All good.
Done

Adjusting wishexecutable /opt/salome/V2019_univ/tools/Code_aster_frontend-20190/etc/codeaster/profile.sh
Initialize terminal and editor for Code_aster
Final configuration

Default version of python on Debian 10 is 3 so I changed it to 2 by

export PATH=/usr/bin:$PATH
alias python=/usr/bin/python2.7
unset PYTHONPATH
export PYTHONHOME=/usr
python --version
Python 2.7.16

But the error message is exactly the same.
Is it possible at all to install it on new Debian? What could be the cause.

Thank you and
Best regards
Maciej

Re: Salome meca 2019 won't install on Debian 10

Hi,
I have never installed in Debian. However, from the error message you have posted, I guess , you might not be having the prerequisites installed. You may install the prerequisites as described in the post  "code-aster.orgSLASHforum2/viewtopic.php?id=24500". Also you may try the following:

 source YourHome/salome_meca/appli_V2019_univ/env.d/envProducts.sh

in your .bashrc file.

Hope it helps. Further if this or something else solves the problem, please post the solution here which may help some other user.

Best wishes.

Sukumar

Re: Salome meca 2019 won't install on Debian 10

Hi sb1966,

I tried that too without effect.
In the end I installed it on a fresh install of debian and copied the files.
