[solved]error while applying nodal force in coque or dkt

I could apply nodal force to DPlan elements but when I changed the model to DKT, the same nodal force showed error.

Isn't the nodal force the most primitive type in FE analysis? Or am i doing something wrong? Could you please suggest and provide a correction if any.

hello

look at AFFE_MODELE command in .mess file
you are trying to mix 3D and 2D plan modeling

i guess one has to be a very clever guy to do that

and this warning is repeated at several places in the .mess file

it is always a good idea to read the .mess file it prevents very often from drawing wrong assertion

@jeanpierreaubry

1. The main question is this: the assignment of nodel force throws error message. Regardless of warning message on other topic (which can be solved in later stage), lets focus on the main question.

2. You are right, I am using mixed FEs such as 3D planer element because the Dplan element that I used earlier do not account thickness, although it runs perfectly.

And ofcourse, our target is to learn from mistakes and get cleverer everday! Don't you agree?

perfectly that is my philosophy of life with code_aster

i do not believe the assignment of nodal force is independent of the curious AFFE_MODEL and the really wrong 2 x AFFE_CARA_ELEM
i would not feel confident enough to mix different modeling while it is so easy to do it with a straight forward 3D modeling

and a later inadequate fixation in 3D

any how attached is my comm file to do the job

Re: [solved]error while applying nodal force in coque or dkt

Thanks!

It means we cannot use more than one instance of AFFE_CARA_ELEM.

Regarding boundary condition, I thought that if we do not define restriction in the z direction, it will be automatically ignored (by substituting zero), but I was wrong.

Its interesting that while solving one problem, you get to know about other parts of the software too. smile

Thanks again!
