Usage of FIN - POURSUITE

Hi there

I am reading the documentation but, as usual with practical issues, it is impossible to undestand how to do this:

is it possible to
   (a) run a computation, say, on Monday, save the result on some file, then
   (b) do some post-pocessing, on Friday?
   (c) if yes, how exactly can one do it?

Thanking in advance

mimis

P.S. too many things are mentiioned in the manuals elusively and it's impossible to understand what happens:
1     the file "glob.1" is mentioned in U4.11.02, prgr#3 : no mention is done on how one may keep it and feed it
       to a future calculation where, as I understand it, POUSUITE will read it - or is this all wrong
  2   the RETASSAGE option: could not find it's meaning - even dictionaries don't have it

Hi,

In a nutshell, the answer is yes. You may read U1.03.00 for more detailed information, especially section 3.6.

Thank you very much !

If I may ask one more favour: could give me a rough idea of the meaning of RETASSAGE in French?

Retassage means to compact.

Re: Usage of FIN - POURSUITE

well, sorry to have to get back to the forum about this but:

I understand that using IMPR_RESU will save a result post-processing is possible by a different comm file. This is, I understand, the classic way.

However, I expected to be possible to make a total copy of the session objects and python variables so as to take it up later or, send it over to someone else: I tried

DEFI_FICHIER ( ACTION     = 'ASSOCIER',
               FICHIER    = '/home/projects/fracture/1/cyli-1.hdf',
               UNITE      = 99,
             )
FIN ( RETASSAGE  = 'OUI',
       INFO_RESU  = 'NON',
       FORMAT_HDF = 'OUI',
       UNITE      = 99 ,)

but, the hdf file I get, is empty. What is the concept behind telling FIN to use a hdf-format file? is it about saving something?

thanking everyone in advance for their patience :-)
