Problems with importing IGS or STEP

Hello all,

I am having trouble importing surfaces that have curvature.

The surfaces are created in Rhino, and all the connections between surfaces are perfectly tight. If I export the surfaces as either IGS or STP files, and import them back into Rhino, or some other software, the connections stay perfectly tight.

However when I import my geometry in Salome-Meca - many of the connections between curved surfaces are no longer tight, which means when I try and partition my model things don't work. I tried playing around with precision, but I don't notice any change.

The solution seems to be that I must split all the surfaces where two edges meet - so all edges of meeting surfaces have the exact same edge lengths. Not a big deal, but it makes editing the model so much more time-consuming, and if I understand correctly should be something the "Partition" command should handle? I don't understand this loss of precision when importing...

Any ideas how to fix this?

Kind regards,

Tom
