Split Surface

Hello,

I have a quick question regarding the geometry module.
Is there a command in the Geometry module to split a Surface into Multiple surface ?
In ANSYS it is the "Fraction" command where we just have to enter the distance from a selected point/edge (see the attached screen shot) but I don't find the equivalent in Salome Meca.

Regards,

LB

Re: Split Surface

Hello Louis,

I do not know of such a command in Salome. However, it is quite easy and should not take more than 5 minutes:

1) create points on edges (with 'by length', though also other possibilities)
2) connect them with lines
3) do a partition of your body with these lines
4) voila--> segmented face

See the screenshots attached in chronological order,

Mario.

EDIT: the purpose is to create surface groups and to mesh the differently, right?

Re: Split Surface

Hello,

Thank you for the tips.

No the purpose is to split a surface and put some beams (with differents I beams sections) on each line that I create (see the attached picture).
