There seems to be a problem during the launch (the salome-meca logo appears then disappears).
Any idea ?

Hi,
The following may help, although I am not sure:
Please try the point No 9 in post #20 of ____/forum2/viewtopic.php?id=24883.
Best wishes

@sb1966, thanks you, but I can't resolve my problems from topic named "Can't run SM v. 2020.0.1-1-un. in Debian Linux v.9-based OS" and after all I was choose SM v. 2019.3, because I don't have the same problems with SM v. 2019.3.

Dear msh,
@sb1966, thanks you, but I can't resolve my problems from topic named "Can't run SM v. 2020.0.1-1-un. in Debian Linux v.9-based OS" and after all I was choose SM v. 2019.3, because I don't have the same problems with SM v. 2019.3.
Thanks for your info.
I think, SM 2020 version has been troublesome for many users including some experts. There are Forum posts requesting newer release of SM 2020 and people have reverted back to 2019.0.3 for the time being. I hope it will be resolved soon. I posted a question to the developers regarding this (viewtopic.php?id=25788); however, it has not attracted any reply so far.
Presently I am also using SM 2019.0.3 in Ubuntu 18.04. I think, it is quite good a version..
Another reason to stick to Ubuntu 18.04 is that Ubuntu 20.04 has some bug related to $\LaTeX$ also. This has delayed upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04 for many users, including me.
Best regards.

I definitely recommend using the singularity LGPL container for the 2020 version.
This will isolate the environment for SM execution, it is actually the dev environment from EDF that is included and preconfigured.
This is much more robust than trying to tweak or hack the (not so) universal build.
