Can't see what went wrong.
Attached the log file
Can anyone help me?

Roger

Hello,

I assume massN is a point group in your mesh?

You'll need a 0D-element for your mass and spring(s). You take your mesh, do a CREA_MAILLAGE with CREA_POI1 on this point group, this mesh is used in the following steps (it is a new one). Take care, you have give the 0D a new name, and you'll probably have to type it in rather than choose it in Asterstudy in the following steps. This group is then used for your AFFE_CARA_ELEM (you can all put them under one CARA_ELEM, it is not necessary to separate them).

Another possibility is to create the 0D element in the mesh module, it will then be possible to choose it rather than type it in.

There are many examples in the documentation and in this forum,

Mario.

Thank you for your reaction.
Strange thing is that I have a 0D group in the mesh module and I can select the group in aster study.
I'll try your first approach.

This is possible if you created it in the mesh module, so it's already in the mesh file you load in Asterstudy.

Is there a naming conflict? Not 100% sure if necessary, but try different names for point group and 0D element created on point group,

Mario.

I gave up.
The mesh contains nodal group massN, nevertheless the group is rejected in the model definition.
Attached the mess file.

Could you upload .comm and .med or .hdf?

Ok, what I corrected:
1) created the CREA_POI1 as described above (you didn't do that Mister Roger :-) ). Notice the different name (mass_N instead of massN (node group), but you could call it what you want.). In summary: mass_N is the 0D element in the same position as massN the node group, but they are totally different entities. A 0D element can do more than a node.
2) put the separate AFFE_CARA_ELEMs under one single AFFE_CARA_ELEM (in fact, separated CARA_ELEMs do not work, as you can only choose one in your analysis later)
3) a PRES_REP is only suitable in 3D -->changed to FORCE_POUTRE (I just entered FZ=-1 is for sure not the right value). I had to remove it in the end because of an error ('more than one distributed load')
4) an additional constraint DX=0 because of singularity (in fact, it is not needed anymore, singularity was because of 5)
5) there were double nodes in your mesh-->Merge nodes in mesh module

It runs now, but I am not sure if it still does what you want.

Mario.

OK thank you!
I tried the CREA_POI1 but I got stuck.
I have 50 years of structural engineering on the clock and worked mostly with commercial software but this is different kettle of fish.
I'm retired and doing this as a hobby.

elempro1 = AFFE_CARA_ELEM(DISCRET=(_F(CARA='K_T_D_N',
                                      GROUP_MA=('massN', ),
                                      REPERE='GLOBAL',
                                      VALE=(0.1, 0.1, 0.1)),
                                   _F()),
                          MODELE=model)

Make above change and re-run.
