[solved]getting started with spring

Hi, Could you please help me to get started with spring (DST_T) element. I tried with some examples in documentation but could not get on well.  I tried with a single spring with fixed one end and load at the other end (see attachment).

I think  I could not understand how the assemblage works. Could you please explain.

hello

i do not understand what you want to do with ASSEMBLAGE here
if you intend to do a MECA_STATIQUE analysis it is of no use

but if yo want to use it for later purposes you need to assign somme mass in the elements
otherwise it might be meaningless

there are a few other mistakes for a MECA__STATIQUE analysis
corrected in the attached file

All examples I went through had ASSEMBLAGE while using DST_T so i thought it had to be used. Obviously I was wrong.

I have tried to make a similar spring analysis.

It is very useful to see these examples.

I think I have followed the procedure correctly...

I have created the spring K_T_D_L.
One node has the force, the other the encastre (fixed) boundary condition.

I see also the need for a dummy material (the stiffness is actually defined in AFFE_CARA_ELEM), but MECA_STATIQUE requires the material.

For some reason I get a mathematical error on the solve. It seems strange to my mind the problem is well defined.

If anyone can help get this working full I would really appreciate it.

I attach the mesh the message, the commandfile and the python to make the mesh.

My best commandfile is the _v4...

I have found some very useful post by Jean (jeanpierreaubry), and have the framabook… really usefull stuff I think it has helped me get very close to working... I definitely recommend reading his post if you are also in this topic.
