Hello everyone,

I am using GMSH for meshing. In my case I would like to simulate a single gallery excavation which means creating a cubic volume and then removing smaller volumes to simulate excavation.
When I use an initial step to prestress my initial volume (before removing the first element at stage 1), I see that the different volumes that comprise my initial cubic soil do not behave as a unified volume, resulting into stress localisation.

Attached you will find the DEPL field. My goal is prestress homogeneously my initial volume before I start excavating.
It seems to me that even though they define one volume, the different subvolumes behave independently.
Is there a way to define a compound volume in GMSH?

Hello,

I had the same issue in the first place.
Try to open a new Salome session, then choose ParaVis and launch your results
through 'Open Paraview File'.

I abandonded ParaVis long ago, for me using GMSH worked better.

Hello everyone,

I am using GMSH to create and import my mesh to Code Aster. However, when I specify the points to be used , I get 0D elements inside CA (instead of nodes) and eventually I cannot use them as nodes in POST_RELEVE_T.

Any idea of how can I get my nodes to be used inside CA?

I have already developed my own material law using the documentation. My problem mostly relies on finding where
the material laws already implemented in CA are hidden (Fortran routines) , in order to modify them and be able to do comparisons.

Hello everyone,

I would like to enrich an already existing material law in Code Aster  (Drucker Prager). So in my view, instead of rewriting the law, I would like to find the routines and modify them the way I want. Unfortunately I am not able to locate the folder of the routines.

Am I missing something?

A rather simple question, I want to build my material law using MFront. Is it possible that I could use this law with different modelisations such as HM? I have already implemented my law using UMAT but as seen in the documentation it does not function with HM.
If not, other ways of how to implement my law that will function with HM in 3D?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to model an anisotropic material (orthotropic) in Code Aster with plasticity.
Apparently I searched the forum and I get that ELAS_ORTH will not work with plasticity (at least for the soil law in CA).

Are there any updates on that? or is it a limitation of CA?

Thank's a lot for your response.

Even though postprocess in Aster study is still not working, the only way I was able to postprocess my results is to open my results file immediately from Paravis via 'Open Paraview File' (note that 'Open in ParaVis' from Asterstudy is also not working).
Posting it just as a solution to post processing in case someone faces the same issue.

Currently I am using GMSH for post-processing.

Hello everyone,

I am using Salome 2019 in Ubuntu 20.04.
I am initially having issues to post -process results from a simple triaxial (STAT_NON_LINE). I get the segmentation violation address 0.
Having read the forum that this might be due to graphics card, I installed an nvidia quadpro P400 and its driver, but still am getting the same issue.

Just a note, without the card I have been using the aster-study post processor with non linear static analysis normally (only elasticity) . The problem started since I introduced plasticity to the model.

Any ideas? I would appreciate any help.

Hello everyone,

I am new to CD so I hope I did not missed anything relevant posted before.

I am trying to simulate a simple excavation in 3D. I set an initial stage to create a prestressed state and in the second stage I am using the stresses calculated.

Initial stage runs without issues but in the second stage , I am getting a few warnings related to mesh edges:

and I also get an error like:

   !   paramètre: PSIEF_R de l'option:  TOU_INI_ELGA.                                !
   !   Le champ par éléments que l'on veut créer est vide. On ne peut pas continuer. !


Does anybody know how to guide me with the warnings and the error?
