Dear all,

I am having some issues post-procesing results with Code Aster on Windows 10. When I set a QUADRANGLE sub-mesh on my model, I am able to successfully run the RunCase, but when i click on post-process, I get the following unexpected error, Type: InterpKernelException.

Hello HB, thanks for your reply.
I'll take your advice and substract on mesh groups with IMPR_RESU instead of using the Extract Groups option.
I'm also attaching the .rmed file so you can take a look at the post processor.

Hello everyone,

I have some questions regarding results visualization using the post process tool of Salome MEca 2019 and using Paravis.

On the Post-Process AsterStudy tool I have the following problems:

1) I can't get a surface visualization of any ELGA results. In particular, I try to color mi results per SIEQ_ELGA, but the window remains empty.
2) If i color my results per, for example, DEPL or SIEQ_ELNO, I get a color map on my mesh, but when I apply a filter per mesh group, I get completely different results.

On Paravis I have the following issues:

3) I can't seem to apply any filter to my mesh. In particular, I'd like to apply an "ELGA or ELNO field to Surface" or an "Extract Groups" filter. In the first case, I don't get any option other than "Solid color" for the color field (although there is a selected ELGA field selected in the pipeline browser).
In the second case, I can't select any of the mesh groups I have created to isolate the results. I'm trying to isolate an ELGA field plotted on Gaussian Points so that only a few elements remain on screen.

Finally, which commend would you reccommend to get the stress results on the elements on a table format (.csv for example)?

I am getting the same error while working on an excavation model with mohr-coulomb plasticity. Did you manage to figure out which parameter it was refering to?

In case anyone wants to check the problem, I'm attaching the mess and the comm file. I get this error in the very first step, which is a geostatic step, without excavation.

Dear all,

First, let me give you some background for my problem: I'm trying to model an excavation using a mesh which was imported from FreeCAD. I have 5 meshes (a solid, 3 shells and a beam) which i turned into a Compound mesh using Salome Meca. As a test run, i'm using only gravity and preventing all 5 "parts" to move using LIAISON='ENCASTRE'.
I've made several runs, in Run_6, I define both the beam and the shell properties in a single AFFE_CARA_ELEM, and I get a program error (both .comm and .mess file are attached to this post)
In Run_7 (.comm and .mess files attached) I define the beam and shell properties in diferent AFFE_CARA_MECA, but i get the following error:

!  User error:                                                                                        !
   !  One seeks to create a CHAM_ELEM but on certain points, one does not find the component:  COQ_NCOU  !
   !  Field:  Punt                                                                                       !
   ! .CANBSP             

Punt is the name of the beam AFFE_CARA_MECA. This sounds odd since i understood that COQ_NCOU is an error associated with shell elements.

I'd be very helpful if someone could give me some insight regarding this error.

Hello everyone,

I found the correct way to accomplish what I needed. If one makes the Groups in the Geometry module, in the Mesh module one can create the element and node groups in "Create group" -> Group on filter -> Criterion = "Belong to geometry" or "Lying on geometry" + Threshold value = the geometry group.

More options regarding Group on filter at Slome Platform Documentation -> Introduction to MESH -> About filters.

Hello everyone, I hope someone could give me a hand with the following problem.

I want to use code aster to perform a simulation on a model that could be changed several times. I have the geometry (solid elements) in a STEP file and have already meshed it, and saved it in a .UNV file with FreeCad (I tried to save it as a .med but it doesn't work for some reason).

My question is: Is there a way to import both the geometry and the mesh, defime groups on the geometry in the Geometry modeule, that then are recognized as geometry groups in the Mesh module, so that I can define elements and nodes groups?

I would be really grateful if someone has some insight regarding this issue.

Hello Mario,

Thank you for your reply. I'm actually new to Code Aster, so i don't know yet the best way to work with it. I decided on "table" instead of the other formats like XMGRACE to also get the values at the nodes and export them easily to a spreadsheet processor.

I think that using RECU_FONCTION and IMPR_FONCTION is not the best strategy after all, since apparently for a ELNO type result, I can only ask for the values of one node at the time. I found it better to use "Interative Selection" in ParaVis and the option "Plot selection over Time", which also allows me to export the results.

Moreover, with the configuration you reccomended, I got the following Error:
"To extract the value from a field by element with nodes (standard ELNO), it is necessary to provide a name of mesh or a mesh                                                                         
group and a name of node or a nodes group."

Do you know the difference between a mesh group and a node group?

Hello all,

I'm unsuccessfully trying to get the stress results for a set of nodes at each time interval for a simple excavation model (I attach the .comm file). I'm using RESU_FONCTION to get the SIEF_ELNO results as a function and the IMPR_FONCTION with a table format.
I would appreciate if someone could help me find a mistake in the definition of the output. If it's correct, how do I display it in ParaVis?
