help with L'axe de référence

Hello

I encountered an error when running the code_aster for my Shell structure. The error message was:

!--------------------------------------------------------------------------!
   ! <EXCEPTION> <ELEMENTS_40>                                                !
   !                                                                          !
!   -> L'axe de référence pour le calcul du repère local est normal à un   !
!      au moins un élément de plaque.                                      !
   !   -> Risque & Conseil :                                                  !
!      Il faut modifier l'axe de référence (axe X par défaut) en utilisant !
   !      ANGL_REP ou VECTEUR.                                                !
   !--------------------------------------------------------------------------!

I am not sure where this issue comes from and how could I fix it. I assume it is related to some of the abnormal meshes. Attached is my *comm and * mail file for your reference. I would really appreciate your time and help on this issue.

Xuan

Re: help with L'axe de référence

Hello

Maybe the answer to your issue is just a matter of orientation on your shells.

You have to specify the X axis of your shell elements in AFFE_CARA_ELEM / COQUE with VECTEUR or ANGL_REP, e.g. _F(GROUP_MA='ES_M006',EPAIS=0.0002, VECTEUR=(1.0,0.0,0.0) ...) (see documentation U4.42.01).
The VECTEUR must not be perpendicular to a SHELL element, as it will be projected on the element to provide the X vecteur.

Personally, I prefer VECTEUR rather than ANGL_REP (for multiple reasons)

By the way, in LIRE_MAILLAGE in the .comm file provided, FORMAT should be 'ASTER' rather than 'MED', no ?

Hope I've helped ...

Bye
